Default o-360 180HP for sale

I just bought an RV7A complete quickbuild kit and got this engine as part of the package. 0-360 A1F6D 0 SMOH wide deck dynafocal mount. By my estimation I'm probably at least 2-3 years from needing an engine, so I figured I would list it for sale. Was originally in a cessna cardinal and removed at 1270 hours TTSN due to prop strike. Engine was completely torn down and overhauled. See attached log book entry and pics of yellow tags and etc. Asking $20,000. Includes carb, ignition, plugs, starter, and ring gear. Logbook since new.

Default any interest

If anyone has any interest in this engine let me know. Shoot me an offer, I wont be offended. Just deciding if I should hang on to it or let someone else buy it who needs one now.

2-3 years from needing it? Fill that rascal completely full of cheap engine oil and let it sit and wait...

Built an off-plan 9A with too much fuel and too much HP. Should drop dead any minute now.

I just originally planned on building my own fuel injected engine. It is tempting to just use this one because I already have it and it looks mint.

Default A1F6D

I had one in my RV-4. It was a good, smooth, solid engine.

The only issue I ever had was with the dual mag. It had not been upgraded from the 2000 series to the 3000 series. I would suggest you have that done if yours is still a 2000 unit.

Also, the A1F6D has a counter-weighted crankshaft. Here is an interesting thread on the pros / cons of such cranks...

Thanks for the link. I now understand the function of counterbalanced crank but I guess a call to lycoming and or testing would be in order. I was planning on rinning a catto prop so not sure how that fits in the equation. Either way Im not in engine mode yet so if anyone needs this shoot me an offer!

Default Cowl

The buyer of this engine would also have the option to buy my cowl at a discount. Its untouched and shipped from vans in 2016. If I sell the engine and go injected I need a different cowl anyway.

Why sell the engine to go injected? Just pull the carb off and install an injection kit - the engine would then be an experimental and cannot be sold for a certificated aircraft again, but if you're happy with the engine then that is a non-issue.

That's what I did with my O-360-A4M with 1120 hours since OH from a Piper Archer. It had all the accessories, though some were 28 volt and needed replaced.

AFP fuel injection and one P-Mag, along with a new 12v starter and alternator. It now has 20 hours on the Hobbs.
