Default Heinz "Hal" Schulz, Comox, BC

I'm sorry to report that Hal Schulz, of Comox, BC, passed away on Saturday when the Cessna 172 he was flying crashed on the west coast of Vancouver Island (what happened has yet to be determined).

Hal most recently built an RV-3B that he flew from Courtenay Airpark, he flew the Cessna 172 as part of a NASA research project that involved taking air quality measurements from 18000' down to 500' on each flight. Hal was also an MD-RA inspector in the early days of the program, inspecting amateur-builts during construction.
