How to fuse LEMO plugs?

Those who installed the LEMO plugs.. -how did you fuse them?

Have you used a 1/4 automotive glass fuse for each position?

Thanks,

Why not just one fuse protecting all the outlets? Size the fuse to protect smallest wire. I don't know the specific current draw, but I can't imagine that 22 gauge wire and a 3 amp fuse wouldn't work. The only downside would be that if one fuse blows then you lose power to both headsets, but most headsets work without power, you just lose ANR.

Going by memory, I'm pretty sure mine are on a separate, 1 amp breaker as to protect the small wire supplied with them.

The installation doc asks for a 1/4 amp fuse or 1/2 amp CB for each LEMO.

Is it maybe to protect the wire within the headset cord?

All fuses and circuit breakers are used to protect the WIRE. If something is needed to protect the electronics, there will be a fuse (or CB) installed inside the unit.

I believe the harness that came with my LEMO jacks had 24 awg wire which should be able to handle up to 2 amps, so a 1 amp fuse or breaker should be fine.

I'm only curious why BOSE instructs to install it with an 1/4amp fuse or 1/2amp CB. The headset cable wire being thinner..?
