Default WTB: Garmin 240 Audio Panel

So... I found a gps and now Iím just going to finish the panel for IFR. I was hoping to start the panel project next weekend.

Anyone recently upgrade to Bluetooth and have a non-Bluetooth audio panel for sale? Like a Garmin 240 or comparable?

Prefer a 240 as it plays nice with g3x.

Thanks,
D

I have a 240 and I'm planning to upgrade to a 245 soon.

How soon do you want one? I'm thinking it'll be 2-4 months.

Would really prefer a 240 as it interfaces with the g3x

There is no interface of the 240 to the G3X, the newer 245 is the one that connects to the G3X via the CAN bus.

Default 240 CAN

The 240 also connects to G3X via CAN bus.

Please share where you found that info as I haven't seen a 240 that supports a CAN bus input.

Default 240 CAN Bus

I have installed 2 of them with CAN bus interface. Connector J2401 Pin 36 CAN HI, Pin 37 CAN Lo. This is from my wiring diagram supplied by Steinair.

I think Stein is doing a good job at pre-wiring you for upgrade to the 245 which does support CAN on those pins, but the 240 (unless Garmin latest manual is incorrect and something has changed) still shows the 240 pins as:
36 RESERVED --
37 RESERVED --

The G3X setup screen:
Audio Panel Type
Used to select the audio panel type as:
None - No audio panel is configured.
GMA 245 - Configures the GMA 245 panel mount audio panel.
GMA 245R - Configures the GMA 245R remote audio panel.

The real test: Have you actually been able control/view the 240 audio panel functions on the G3X?
