Stuck B&C Alternator Drive Coupling

I bought a slightly used (200 hr) Rotax 912 ULS. It came with a B&C SD-20 standby alternator installed in the pad located at the back of the gearbox. I wanted to remove the B&C Alternator, but found that it was stuck. A bit of persuasion eventually decoupled the drive coupling from the alternator, but the drive coupling remains in the gearbox. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to safely remove the B&C alternator, spline shaft drive coupling from my 912 without fear of breaking it off inside? I have no idea why it is stuck but it now has me concerned why it won't slide out easily.

Best,
Chad
