Default Trim Mechanism

Bill, this shot shows a small handle below the quadrant
- I assume that is for manual elevator trim?
Did you make this yourself or is this something that can be purchased?
Do you have any pics of the mechanism?

You can email me at molsons@telus.net

Default Almost there....

First engine start on Saturday....can't say enough about Penn Yan and their engine builds. 0-360 A1A (ECI major components w/ Lycoming cylinders), Plasma II ignition. Very smooth!
Mel's coming the 10th to do the inspection...I'm taking some flight time with Alex in his 6 just to brush up. First flight maybe next week...gotta wait for a cool morning though...it's been 100+ degrees almost every day now and that's just too hot!

Default Awesome!

Awesome Bill! While at OSH last week was thinking MAYBE next year we could have a coupl more FASTBACK -4s there....hopefully mine will be one of them. Hopefully 'sticking' the wings on mine this month and getting the electrical done so can 'first start' too.

Keep up the great work and good luck with the upcoming inspection!

This weekend has been packed with RV activity in my house. My wife left for the weekend with her best friend and I am all by my self. So, airplane building has been a priority. I am sure that it would have been less painful to install the engine mount and engine if I had some help me but it all worked out. Seems like I spent all day trying to install the six engine mount bolts and four engine bolts. About 20 minutes of that time was spent trying to put a washer between the firewall and the engine mount. All I kept saying to myself was patience grasshopper. The engine is a mid time O320 B2B that I pulled from an RV that was ground looped. The result is shown below. I am so happy right now.

The information that I post is just that; information and my own personal experiences. You need to weight out the pros and cons and make up your own mind/decisions. The pictures posted may not show the final stage or configuration. Build at your own risk.
