APRS Symbols

While perusing the links section at the Byonics site, I came across this like that shows all of the APRS Symbols:

http://www.jarviscomputer.com/jim/aprs-symbols/

In the primary symbols, they have this nice one for a plane:

For its secondary symbol, it's a bit scary:

I guess if we could flip a switch on the TinyTrak for a mayday that would enable this symbol, people will know we're in trouble!

Bill, we can indeed flip a switch on the Tiny-Traks and Micro-Traks to transmit a "busted airplane" icon. Each of those devices allows us to set up a secondary configuration that could be activated in the case of an enflight emergency. A text message such as "Enflight Emergency! Call 800-XXX-XXXX" can also be set in the secondary config for broadcast with the track beacon.

Very, very cool capability!
