Default Folding an avionics bracket for the map hole

Has anybody folded a bracket/shelf for supporting a couple of boxes forward of the sub-panel at the map box hole? I'd want something I can slide in and out later after the forward skin is on so bracing fwd isn't a good option.

The shelf can sit on the map box doubler flange. If a U-shape shelf is made the sides can be screwed to the boxes within. Flanges could be riveted to the sides of the shelf to affix it to the sides of the map box hole at the panel with screws.

How best to support the shelf fore/aft so it stays in place, and still be able to get it in/out?

You can buy two additional ribs that go on either side of the map box opening to the firewall where boxes can be mounted between them. They are available from Advanced Flight Systems for use in their Quick Panel System. I just installed them. Not the shelf you are looking for but a mounting alternative.
