A newbie question about W&B graphs

We recently bought our first experienced (used) homebuilt and upgraded the panel to G3X, the interior and the engine to FI. (Nighttime pic of finished panel below) The certified planes I have flown in the past had a CG graph with corner points on the forward CG limit line that sloped the line towards the aft CG limit line so that the CG envelope narrowed as weight increased. On the two or three Vans W&B spreadsheets and graphs I have seen, the forward CG limit lines have no corner points. They are straight vertical lines that leaves the CG range at gross just as wide as it is at empty weight. Is that correct? Should the CG range become more narrow as weight increases?
