If I do baffles before the canopy am I boxing myself into a corner?

Test fitting the baffles is a challenge. Thinking it will be a huge mess if I put the RTV on before fitting the right and left rear baffles. The left one is particularly a pain.

Also have to reclock the #3 manifold pressure fitting cuz I have a 45 on there and it needs to aim down to get the hose under the baffle.

Oh and what in the world is self etching RTV? I have some Dow Corning 732 but self etching?

I believe some RTV is corrosive and I think you need sensor safe RTV , if that is what you are referring to.

Many have acetic acid, it is the "self etching". It has a strong acid smell. It is NOT what you want.

Edit: OK I shall eat my words - if the plans say self etching, it IS what you want.

The reason I ask is that the plans say that if you don?t have self etching rtv you need to scuff the aluminum. Other than that there isn?t any specific guidance about what rtv to use.
