Default Flange straightening-with the tool

Do you straighten every rib flange?

Try setting up an assembly line ... things move quicker and I found I got more consistent results.

Great jig (plans found on VAF) for flanges



Quick double check to make sure everything is square.

Every flange! The straightening tool is a godsend. It was the first tool I made!

The picture above is about all you need to build your own. My block, opposite the working end of the arm, was cut back 10 degrees to allow for springback. The resulting flanges came out at a nice 90-deg angle.

Thx for the help. I have the tool and set it up as per another blog on here...11 degrees. I like the square idea and will start using that to check if im off or not. I would rather spend a lot of time getting this part right.
