Hi guys,

I was trying to set up the alarm for shock cooling in my EIS 4000. The manual says to ask your engine manufacturer for cooling parameters. I can't find anything specific about this in my engine manual. Anyone know what the maximum allowable rate of cooling is for an IO360? Tips on setting up this alarm?

confirm 50deg

Sudden cooling is detrimental to the good health of the piston aircraft engine. Textron Lycoming Service Instruction 1094D recommends a maximum temperature change of 50oF per minute to avoid shock cooling of the cylinders.
