Merry Christmas. I intend to spend my time away from the mother-in-law in my man-cave hence my questions.

Where and how have people mounted the handles for handbrake (if fitted) cabin heat and Alt air supply?

thanks

David

your preference really

I put my cabin heat all the way on the right side of the panel, I live in florida so we don't use cabin heat much. My parking brake is located center lower on the left of the throttle. The knob is small and there is no way you can confuse it for the throttle. I know you didn't ask about the flap switch but mine is located just to the right of the throttle, no hand movement needed for activation. Take care and happy holidays...

Sub panel

We have put all knobs on the sub panel.
(Right seat is pilot seat)

Here's a closer look:

We've installed dual heat muffs due to the cold winter weather here.

Way over on the right side for me (also simplifies the installation).

My parking brake control is on the upper left so a passenger can't accidentally activate it. (Think "Young Eagles".)

Worked the mid shift and resting in the backseat on the way to the mother-in-laws........Far right side as well, both heated seats and cabin heat. Keeps them out of the way and can still be reached while strapped into the pilot seat. Alt air I put just right of the mixture, keeps the engine controls grouped together. Others have placed the alt air away from everything else, I can't see myself ever pulling it unintentionally but it is resettable in flight anyway.

I have located my Carb heat to the right of the Mixture on the panel.
I have an IO-360 so I located the Alternate air all the way left on the subpanel.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I put the cable handle for the heat FAR over on the right side . It's a short throw to the heater outlet and keeps it out of the way. It also gives the passenger something to do if he/she is intent on touching stuff.

I put the alternative air all the way over on the right in case there was a passenger intent on touching stuff.

Mine is on the right because the copilot controls cabin heat.

Do not make my mistake and mount in main panel. Put it on subpanel or elsewhere.

My alt air is by my left knee, in that vertical stiffener.

Here's mine, to add to your selection database:

Alt Air to left of throttle (easy access if induction inlet is blocked or contaminated).

Cabin Heat below right corner of radio stack (reachable for easy adjustment from either seat).

No Parking Brake

Fresh air and cabin heat on the far right. Parking brake attached to the left fresh air nozzle. Alternate air close to the engine controls above the sub panel to the right side of the flap switch.

David,

I recessed mine under/behind the panel so they are out of the way.
The mounting brackets have nutplates so they can be removed easily.

All the best on your project....
