Hanging the engine

I had intended to delay attaching the tail cone as late as possible but I'd like to hang the engine sooner to let it settle as much as I can before fitting the cowl sometime downstream. It occurred to me, though, that it might not be stable on the tricycle gear with all that weight up front and nothing behind the main gear. So, has anyone mounted the engine before attaching the tail cone and, if so, was it a good idea?

That's what I did - no problem at all. Very convenient if you don't have the room for the complete assembled fuselage.

Delayin the tail cone

With the great access back in the rear of the a/c, i plan to put my tail cone on a day or so before the DAR gets here 😉
I also recommend leaving the side skins only clecoed on as long as you possibly can. Getting to stuff behind the firewall, or in the tunnel, or geenerally anything under the avionics shelf is easy with a side skin removed...near impossible otherwise!
