What does HRII mean ?

The HRI was an RV-3 with a bigger engine than Van's recommended. The HRII was an RV-4 with a bigger engine than Van's recommended. See the pattern yet? There's also an HRIII... guess what makes it different? An even bigger engine!

There are at least a couple hundred HRIIs out there. The HRII evolved into the F1 Rocket, but the differences are relatively minor, most notably in the engine mount/firewall and landing gear area. The F1 main wheels are about 4" further forward to help prevent nose overs. There are about 176 F1s out there somewhere.
