Organic vs metal brake pads

Is there a way to identify organic pads by visual inspection?

I purchased ?organic? pads, but they seem to have metal visible in them.

Which is better? Do they need a different type of rotor? How long might brake pads last? It seems they have been replaced about every 60 hours on my RV9A

Thanks,
Tom

Many organic pads include metal pieces, such as brass, but all their metal parts are softer than the disc and will not cause it to wear, like a metallic pad.
