Good morning VAF! I was working on the rudder (page 07-05 step 4) and the mandrel of the LP4-5 used to attach the tie wrap clip broke about half way down. It looks like the river is fully set. Should I drill it out anyway? Can I clip off the mandrel and press? If I do drill it out, is there a good technique to deal with the fact that the mandrel is still in place? Is there any technique I should use when setting one of these rivets in the future to avoid this issue? I thought I had everything aligned well. It looks like the teeth on the puller put enough of a grove in the mandrel that it became a new weak point and broke.
