Can anybody tell me what these nutplates will be used for.

Not a -14 guy, but from the pictures I've seen, that looks like the location of the landing/taxi lights; perhaps it is for mounting them?

Chris

I assumed they would be for a ballast for a HID landing light if one went that way.

With LED's that may be a thing of the past.

For my HID's I actually took a .063 metal plate and cut it to fit those 4 holes and used that to mount my HID ballast to, since the hole pattern wasn't a match.

So if I'm using LED's I won't be using them correct? Sounds like there for mounting the Ballast for HID lighting.

Thanks

After several years of the wings set aside, I finally mounted them recently and noticed these nutplates. I assume this is one of those things that originally had a purpose, but not anymore if using the spec'ed LEDs.

Has anyone found another purpose for these other than as a mounting place for a HID ballast?
