CS4 rivet dimple

On page 07-04 they tell you to dimple for a CS4 rivet. That rivet has a 120 degree head from what I've found. Can I just use my normal 100 degree #30 dimple die for that or do I need to order a different die?

Thanks as always

I would say buy the die, you'll need it on the ailerons also. I tried what your suggesting on some scrap and found it not satisfactory at all. Give it a try yourself though and see if you would trust it.

Interestingly I don't see this dimple die set called out in the tools list, but there is a call out for a 120 degree countersink cutter.

They also didn't call out for a #10 dimple set or a #12 CS. Hopefully I get to use those more than once...

I'll go ahead and order the 120 die.

Similar question. The rolled lap section on the front of the rudder calls for AD-41-ABS rivets so I am assuming I do not have to dimple those holes as they are flat head rivets.

I am struggling in finding a 120 die set for my pneumatic squeezer? Any suggestions of where I could locate a set of these die’s?

Test one, I think you'll see that the difference between 100 and 120 is very trivial.
I agree. This comes up frequently in the RV-12. The KAI will say something like "dimple for a CS-4". Often that's 120 but not always. I was told by tech support that the pre-dimpled skins from Van's are 100 degrees because that's all their equipment can handle. Any overlying skin fits better if it's dimpled the same.
