New Forum

This RV-8 driver is sitting in his kitchen surfing the web because the weather sucks so bad around here this time of year ;-) (Eastern Ontario)

Man, I can't wait for spring...

RV-8 drivers

Not a driver yet, just building. But I'll try to follow the forums and learn all I can from you guys who've done it. Mine is a QB RV-8. Just putting gear on. Wings are almost ready to be closed up - need a few wires and I need to do cutout for landing light. Empennage is done. Panel planned and radios, antennae have come. Engine from Lycon should be arriving fairly soon - parallel valve IO-360 with fwd facing intake and 10:1 pistons, one Lightspeed III etc.Am really impressed with quality of Van's kit, not so impressed with our own skills so far, but Jane and I will keep at it. I fly a Pitts regularly and hope that will keep me up to speed for flying the RV. Bill Dicus [email protected]

Keeping current on a Pitts

Hey Bill,

I had a grand total of 150 hrs, with 2.8 hours of tailwheel instruction and I didn't have any problems flying my -8. If you are current a Pitts, you'll be able to have a nap on final and still make a great landing ;-)

Thanks for your vote of confidence. Still will probably be tense on that first final. Bill
