Holes in leading edge of left wing , why?

Have noticed several #40 holes on leading edge of left wing. Can not find reference in manual or blueprints. Three on bottom, three on top and two on edge. They are located just outboard of the fuel fill/ tank joint.

Any idea what they are for?
