Interesting track

This looks like a smartphone app rather than a ham radio link. I use an Android app when I'm hiking or mountain climbing. I believe they usually report ham radio call sign with a -1 or other suffix appended to the call sign.

More than likely a passenger with their phone turned on. They might be a candidate for the Darwin award!

Checking his call sign, it looks like it is a 2 meter APRS signal.

He's using his VHF radio.

This is too funny! I check all the stations under that call and looked at some of the locations. The more I saw the more I figured I had to have know the person. Sure enough, he spends time at Hampton Airfield (7B3) regularly and would setup an an advisory "tower" on days the airfield had big events with lots of expected airplanes. He's a hoot!
