Something on my flywheel

Can anyone tell me what this thing bolted to my flywheel is? I suspect it's some kind of automatic balancer. Should I keep it?
Thanks.

Harmonic Balancer, probably made by Mark Landoll and no longer available. Generally used with wood fixed pitch prop.

Landoll fluid-filled balancer. Now that they are no longer made, they have become somewhat highly sought-after.

If you're going to continue running a wood or composite fixed pitch or ground adjustable prop, you definitely want to keep it.

Not everyone agrees with this. I am not an authority on this subject, but Jim Fackler, who has a business dynamically balancing props and is well respected, is of the opinion that harmonic balancers are useless unless your goal is only to move the CG forward. Just FYI, I can't argue one way or the other.
