Wing Jacks

I should have asked here first. I couldn't find a suitable jack, so I made my own. What are RV owners using for jacks?

I haven't addressed this yet, but I was thinking about getting one of these, then bolting up a wooden box to bridge the gap between the top of the jack and bottom of the wing. I'd put a chunk of 2x6 on top of the box, and drill a hole in it to index a bolt fitted to the wing tie-down socket. The 2x6 would be under the spar, of course, to distribute the load.

What do you think? And what's the typical dimension from the ground to the underside of a -9A wing?

I built a couple of milk stools and bought some of those jack points from Anti-splat. Not very original but it's cheap and works. Just want to make sure the wheels on the ground are chocked. John

Search?

Dont recreate the wheel. Do a search for wing jacks on this forum. Many good examples from the brain trust.

I use one of these to lift the whole plane from under the main spar pass-through. A box roughly 1' by 1' fits over the rails and has a 2' by 3' plywood top covered by 2" pink foam. Antenna placement during construction was made with this procedure in mind. This only works for maintenance outside the plane. You don't want to be jumping on the step while the plane is balanced in the air.
