Measuring Crankcase Pressure

Dan Langhout

Well Known Member
What are folks using to substitute for the oil filler cap/dipstick when installing a pressure measuring tap to measure crankcase pressure? As much as I have searched, I can't seem to find any definitive information on the thread size. I'd like to find some sort of threaded metal or plastic cap that fits the filler tube that I could then drill and tap for a tube fitting to connect to my digital manometer.
Any ideas?

Can't help on the tread info, but why not use one of the existing pipe threaded ports on the accessory housing that just go into the crankcase volume?

Dip Stick Threads

Dan,
I just measured mine and both appear to be 1-1/8 O.D. X 12 inch pitch. The cap with the dip stick major diameter is smaller.
