canopy skirt gap

Ok so I have my skirt all modified up to fit my canopy/frame and i have the inside painted a powder coat matching color.

#1? Do you leave the "keeper" rivets in the canopy and just use the remaining holes?

If no then what precautions do you use when drilling the "keeper" rivets out.

#2? how much "pull" will the rivets have on the canopy skirt to frame, if I put in clecos it pulls the skirt in pretty nice and tight, there are only a few gaps of about 1/16 or so. I just worry that if I counter sink the fiberglass that there will not be much pull and possibly pull through the glass. I guess I wonder if the rivets will hold as well as clecos will?

searched the threads and didnt see anything about this.

cheers

I mixed up a thick mixture of flocked cotton and epoxy and made a "shim" so that skirt would not be distorted by the clecos (or the pulled rivets). I think I read to do this in the plans somewhere.
