Attitude Indicator bad??

My AI rolled over, so I figured it was bad.
Luckily, I had a spare.
Installed it last night.

Today: the new one did too.

Could it be my vacuum pump instead, or perhaps simply a clogged in line filter?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Some questions to consider
How's the DG working?
Are you sure the spare is good (how long has it been just sitting around)?
What is the vacuum gauge showing?
Checked for cut(s) or leaks in the hoses?
Hours on the pump?
How long since filters changed?

Checks to perform

Dan,
Thanks for your thoughts.

When I swapped the artificial horizon, I visually inspected the hoses. They looked good, however, with that said, a small slit is hard to see in a hose.

The AI was tagged 1992. Looks new, but not sure.

Since the N262 DF is new to me, as I read the aircraft log, it looks like the pump was changed 11/2006, approximately 65 hrs ago (tach time).
The engine was overhauled 8/2012 due to prop strike. (30 hrs on tach).

No mention of filter change.

Changed the inlet air filter, performed better, but still not useable. I order the gyro filter, and will install this week and see if that is the fix.

Thanks,

Rebuild now

Even after Gyro filter change, the AI would roll over after 10 min.
Sent it out for a rebuild.
I did not know that AI's do not store beyond 6 mths (generally), and the internal bearings are subject to fail with lack of use.

Yank out the Vacuum Pump, AI and DG, Take the money you would spend in AI rebuild and put it into an EFIS. I did years ago and never looked back.
