Today I weighed my fire extinguisher as part of my annual condition inspection. I have the small RT-A400 HR3 model without the pressure gauge. Normal gross weight is 1.2 lbs. After 6 years, the bottle only weighed 0.3 lbs.
Comments in the Spruce catalog was filled with complaints about this bottle. The bottle is supposed to have a shelf life of 12 years but many bottles were failing (losing charge) within two to four years.
