RV9A flap actuator to weldment safety wire

Guys....The drawing is not very clear in how to safety wire motor actuator shaft to weldment. I read where some compressed it between the two washers on the nut side. This did not seem right to me. Any ideas? And thank you again.

Drill a hole in the rod end bearing, and a hole in the tube (at an angle from the side to the end of the tube).
Tighten the jam nut, and the safety wire is just there to make sure if the jam nut ever loosens, then the rod end bearing won't unscrew as the flap jack screw rotates.

I did the same but drilled the jam nut, not the rod end bearing. This was the original method recommended to insure the jam nut doesn?t turn and loosen.

The document posted by Gil is the recommended method.

I would not recommend drilling the rod end without analyzing the loads. It is probably ok, but why take the chance when the recommended method accomplishes the same thing.
