Modify the seat rail HDPE inserts as detailed in numerous places in the VAF -10 forum.
Make the slide stop more easily removable by replacing the nuts under the rail with plate nuts in the under-seat pan that covers the spar. Easy to remove the stop with a socket and ratchet extension. IIRC, this involved a switch from structural flat head screws to bolts for mounting the seat stop. Could use either, I suppose.
Fab a clone of the commercially-available seat adjuster handle to replace the T-handle. Wasn't hard to do without ever having seen one, as the principle is very straightforward. Was even able to repurpose the no-count hex stock main axle extensions into handles. This is mostly 1/2" x 1/2" bar stock from ACS hollowed out by multiple passes on a table saw. Many aluminum, much shavings
This change added 8.5 oz over the two T-handles it replaced.
Result - seats out in about 60 seconds each, most of which is removing the seat stop bolts.
