Default Instrment panel depth issues

I am installing more avionics and the support structure for the center steel rollover bar is limiting the depth. Has anyone modified that structure to make the top of the radio stack deeper?

I had to modify the right bracket to accommodate the radio stack angle for the Aerosport panel I'm using. Cut the bracket and back plate, support both with angle. Here's some pics. Hope this is helpful.

Ok further investigation and the clearance issue was the center gusset that supports the panel, nothing to do with the center post. We nibbled about 5 back on a line parallel to the glare shield then down to the bottom of the gusset. Still seems very strong, and there are two other supports for the panel/glareshield to help support.

Problem solved
