Landing gear mounts

Has anybody mounted the landing gear mounts with the legs in them? They were a pain to get in, and I don't want to take them out. I'm wondering if they will interfere with something later.

They should slide right in, any power coating on the inside of the weldment? maybe clean them up with fine sandpaper and oil, or crocus cloth? mine were in and out about 20 times throughout the build.

I'm going by memory but I remember mine had a little lip to them from the powder coat. You don't want to remove anything on the close tolerance metal but if you have a small lip, it will make things very hard to remove.

Until I figured that out, I had to press the gear out using an arbor press.

My friend told me about a trick that an old timer taught him involving using STP oil treatment to help slide things together. Put just a little bit of that onto the machined parts and things slide together with ease. You'll note a big difference in friction with that stuff on them.
