Default prestolite starter - worth repairing?

My prestolite starter recently stopped working...

I got a new skytec replacement but curious if it is worth fixing the old prestolite starter as a backup.

It looks like the pin is sheered - I am not sure if there is a more reasonable way to overhaul it instead of paying 400+ for an overhaul.

Thoughts? If i should fix it then what would be the best route.

Default Or buy mine....

I've got 2 of the old prestolite (I think) starters that have come off old engines. They are real heavy anyway. Pm or call, I'll make you a smoking deal on one or both. Clint 605-891-12nine zero
