Archer Wingtip Nav Antenna Installation

For those of you who have installed the Bob Archer wingtip nav antenna in an RV-10, how did you route the nav & strobe wires in the wingtip? The antenna plans have strict instructions to route the wires along the forward leg of the antenna out to the tip, and that worked well in my RV-8 where the nav/strobe lights were externally mounted. With the RV-14 wingtip (identical part to the -10) the nav/strobe assembly mounts in the recess ahead of (rather than outboard of) the antenna. Seems the easiest path is to run the wiring halfway out along the forward leg of the antenna and then split off and go up to the lights. Has anyone done it that way and found it to have good performance in flight?

Thanks,

I put the leading edge of the Archer about 8" aft of the landing light. I just ran landing/strobe/nav light wiring straight out from the wing. I know, not as the instructions show, but it works fine.
