Default RV-1 Headed North

This morning, Van flew the RV-1 again. This time was for an early morning photo shoot.

While he was away flying, Paul Dye "signed over" to me "The ONE" for delivery to its next stops as soon as Van returned.

I am happy to report that it is now in Savannah, GA for an event at the recently chartered, EAA Chapter 1514. Subsequent stops include Columbia, SC followed by a stop at the NC Formation Clinic.

Escorted, by Team RV member Jerry "Widget" Morris, it made its way this morning, over some beautiful inland areas of Florida and Georgia.

Photos to come.

Just a batch of photos including:

Van contemplating and prepping for sunrise photo flight.
Paul updating Van
Louise and James reviewing paperwork on RV-1 (checklists etc.)
Paul "signing over" plane to James for next delivery
Aerial shots over north Florida
"The One" on the ramp in Savannah. Jets being pulled out to make room for it.

Default Pic #1

If you have known Van or been around him for many years picture #1 is him to a tee. Could not have captured him at a better moment. Always deep in thought but not alot to say. Not only a great designer but a good man, and not one to toot his own horn so to say.

James, I was just going to call you when I saw this. When is it going to be at KCUB and for how long?

There will be many chances to see the RV-1 if our plans continue to work out. The schedule is at: http://rv-1.org/p/357 and we will try to continuously update it.

Default Thanks, Louise

Thanks. I knew I had seen it somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Oldtimers I guess! Looking forward to seeing it and admiring the great job y'all did restoring it.
