USA Perimeter Flight, Formation Flying And Primary Aerobatics

Guys, I'm back after flying STUBBS around the perimeter of the United States with a two week stop in Oshkosh. At Oshkosh, I got in a couple of informal formation flights with a nice looking Falco and a Super Rebel.

Last weekend I flew with the Memorial Squadron over RAO Ranch honoring Purple Hearted Veterans, their families and friends. That was with a Mentor (Marines), two Pitts, an Extra and an RV4. Everyone had smoke and it was quite a flight.

STUBBS has been proven to be quite the all around aircraft:

Economical cruise for long distance flights in the 13,500' to 16,500' range. average TAS of 150 kts at under 6 GPM.

The constant speed prop on the 160 hp O320 has enough juice to get around the outside in position and over the top in formation flying, with single pilot full fuel or two people and half tanks.

Primary aerobatics are straightforward except that as previously mentioned in other posts, spins past 1 rotation start whipping around.

A great all around airplane!

Hard to stay at work with this airplane waiting for me to ride her!
