I bet this was a mistake or something, I ordered some stuff from the EAA store with my savings.

I'm a day late and a few dollars short.

It doesn't seem to be working this morning.

Sort of makes me wonder who the EAA had in mind when they set this up. Certainly wasn't us, seeing that they never published it anywhere that I have regular access.

Apparently, from what I've been able to gather on the old interwebs, the coupon code wasn't supposed to be released to the rank and file (IOW most of us) and it was pulled as soon as they became aware it was being used outside of the intended audience.

Disclaimer: I've no proof of this, just forum posts, so take or leave it as you see fit.

Well. . . A friend called EAA headquarters after he attempted to use the promo code and it did not work. He was told that code was for a select group of EAA members near the OSH area. It sounds like EAA was trying to keep this on the hush-hush, keeping it from the rank and file, and meant only for some elite group of members. Kind of sounds like a Hightower type of trick to me.

Now the million dollar question is going to be: Will they honor the tickets?

I doubt that the person scanning the bar code will care how you got the tix. Hey, we're part of the secret club now!
Glad that for once, I didn't procrastinate. Now if the enroute weather will just cooperate maybe I can actually USE the tix!

So an EAA staffer posted the rest of the story over on the EAA forum. It was a promotional event for a very small group and not intended for the mass membership. I posted my thoughts over there and suggest if you want more details, head over as well. Probably best if this thread gets closed at this point IMO.
