Default NYC RV Friendly Airports

I will be visiting northeastern New Jersey/NYC for a few days mid-July; any recommendations on where to park my RV-12? Or where not to? Teterboro?

Also, I do plan to fly up the Hudson, which is a bucket list item for me.

Thanks for your responses.

Default KHPN

We flew into KHPN (White Plains) the night before our planned excursion down through the NYC VFR Corridor. They were very good to us. It was a good jumping off point to fly the corridor the next morning too.

When we landed in White Plains, we rented a car and drove into NYC and had dinner and stayed overnight there. Then drove back to HPN the next morning to conduct our corridor flight back down through NYC. It all worked out great for us.

AVOID KTEB like the plague! $7 Avgas, ramp fees, tie downs are scarce.

Default TEB vs HPN

I fly in there regularly for work and Teterboro is VERY busy with corporate jets. HPN is a longer drive to Manhattan but easier in and out. I do not know about Caldwell but it is much smaller so might be easier in and out.

Default Airports

I just got back from a trip to NJ/NY I HIGHLY recommend N07 Lincon Park. Itís just outside Teterboro class D. Great stop with a restaurant on the airport. You can tie down in front of the restaurant for free. I stayed 3 nights and just bought a few gallons of gas. Also the Hudson River tour is easy to get to from this airport. Itís about 7 min from the start of the Corridor. I recommend doing the tour before 830 am. There will be Zero traffic so you can enjoy the view!

Linden, KLDJ is close. Cab ride to the train into Manhattan or dial up an Enterprise rental and drive yourself. I was based there for 5 years, easy access to the corridor is a plus.

I'm originally from NJ. When I fly down from NH to visit I use Greenwood Lake.

I have friends who pick me up, so I can't speak to ground transportation.

But it's relatively quiet and outside the Class B.

I have also used Lincoln Park, which was fine too.

sky manor has a nice diner/restaurant.. scenic area.
farmingdale is a big empty airfield with mostly jets..
ocean city is nice if you want to walk to the beach
old bridge has 4 RVís under construction or built.
central jersey has the cheapest gas, always.. and a nice italian restaurant in walking distance.

there is a presidential tfr coming soon.. so check.

Default NYC

Beware the Potus TFR's which close a bunch of airports to the Southwest. Airports to the NW have fuel prices $2 cheaper than the close in airports.
