Default My Rv-3 and the fat lady

The fat lady is not on stage, but she's definitely walking toward it. After twenty glorious years of flying her it's now time to sell my RV-3. First flown in 1998 she still has the original engine (IO-320B1A with 750 hours since complete field overhaul). Hartzell propeller, three axis electric trim, sliding canopy, wing tanks, Dynon D-10A and day/night VFR. She comes with four new in the box Lycoming cylinders, 9.0 forced pistons, rings, wrist pins, and brass buttons, spare radio and transponder, and many other items. Price is $40, 000 firm. You can find a picture of my Three by going to Van's website and clicking on the RV-3 model. I have other pictures which I will email to interested persons. Blue skies, Chuck Brietigam

Default Buy of the Century!

I know the builder and the plane - and both are exemplary!

There aren't many -3's around anyway, but this is one (if you are in the market) that should not be overlooked.

If you are looking for a 3, this aircraft should get serious consideration.

I know this plane too. It is as good as they get. If you want a picture, look on Vans website.

Default RV3

Chuck:
I bought some radios from you five years ago. They work fine.
I am not in the market for another airplane.
My question is what make and model prop do you have on your RV3?
Pitch and diameter?
Would your prop be, in your opinion, suitable for an RV4 160hp?

Thanks,
Mike Warbington

Default prop

Chuck:
It really is too early in the morning for me to be trusted.
I see, after another cup of coffee, you have a Hartzell prop on your airplane, which most likely is a constant speed prop. I think the prop on your engine on a Twin Comanche had an extended hub.
I am curious about reccomended fixed pitch propeller diameter and pitch for RV3 and 4.

Thanks,
Mike Warbington

That prop is polished to look like chrome. Beautiful.
