Anyone know if you can use the Vans capacitive plate system with the EI Fuel Level gauge ?

You need their gauge that is specifically for capacitance senders. In my previous panel, I had an EI model FL2C for my capacitance senders. There's also a little converter sender for each tank.

If you have done the Capacitive installation exactly to specs in the tank (no shorts!), calibrating the indicator is next. It can be tricky.
I spent a LOT of time to get it right. You can mail me and I will send you a "Calibrating EI FL-2CA for Dummies" that I made out of frustration, because the EI instruction does not tell the whole story - I think! Sincerely
