Engine in my house

I have just purchased a newly overhauled engine and it will be at least a couple of months before it is put on a plane and flying. Do you guys think it will be fine since it is sitting in my house, or do I need to use dehydrator plugs and/or pickel it?

In my opinion, if its INSIDE your house, in a climate controlled area, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Pickling is definitely not needed, but you can't go wrong with a set of dehydrator plugs.

Re:pickling engine

Hi all,
Just for a little comparison, my engine on my 8A sat in my unheated workshop for a year before I hung it in othe airframe. And then it was another year before I flew it. Yes you will be fine with your proposed storage. YMMV Tim

On the coffee table in your lounge room should be the best place.

Your wife will love it there! :D

It is worth the effort of the dehydrator plugs. A month may be a month. I kept an O360 for a couple of years with no problems but heated the desiccant every few weeks to keep it blue.
