Vans fuel pressure gauge problem.

Ok guys, I just installed a vans fuel pressure gauge into the radial RV. Before startup the gauge worked normally. After startup the gauge promptly went to zero and won't read anymore. The Rotec Radial uses an automotive style alternator that is internally regulated. So there is no alternator switch. Is it possible that the alternator fried the gauge?

Highly unlikely, unless you had a lot of other overvoltage related failures at the same time. Cars almost universally use that type alternator & don't have separate switching for the alt. I'd be betting on ground paths, wire terminations, sender, gauge, in about that order

Not directly related to the gauge, but do you have overvoltage protection built into the plane? It's not hard to implement, even with a 'one wire' alternator.
