Default gearbox rebuild on 912

Looking at a used RV-12 for sale that might need a gearbox rebuild. How much time am I looking at pulling the prop, sending the gearbox off for R&R, and $ usually spent on a gearbox, say it needs dogs, shimming and new washers /Bellvues, then reinstall, pitch and balance the prop?

Give Wayne Flemmington (Southland Rotax) a call on 951-255-9144. His shop is located at French Valley (F70), not too far from you. He could give you a good idea of the work involved, and also be able to rebuild the gearbox for you if it needs it.

Just had that done on my 912 ULS. I built a Rans S-20 Raven. I used Mark Pringle of Rocky Mountain Kitplanes to replace and shim. Removed the gearbox myself and sent it to him. Doesn't take long depending on the availability of the mechanic. The parts are appx. $900.00.

I assume you are talking about an auto pilot. Yes, it is an option.
