Buyina an O-320

I am considering buying an O-320 from either Penn Yan Aero or Aero Sport Power. Is either better than the other? Any good or bad experiences? Any leasons learned?

Aerosport

I have had a great expierence with Aerosport power thus far. Sue and Bart are great to work with and delivered on time just as they quoted.

I have a all new 0-320-D2A in my 9. One electronic ignition (Jeff Rose) and 1 slick mag. I then added B&C starter & alternator to the package.

I went with Penn Yan Aero...

Why? They are on the US side of the border, have an 800 number, and built an ECI Titan 0-320-D1A engine for me with my choice of options. Shipping was included in the price, and the total was less than all the others. Penn Yan has been in business, owned by the same family since 1945.

The engine was run at all power settings for 1.5 hours in a test cell.

O-320

Be careful. Not all O-320s are created the same. Both Aero Sport and Penn Yan are outstanding. But are you talking about a standard O-320 or the "76 series" the O-320 H2AD?
Just like real estate you must think about about resale. Typically the H2AD has a lower resale value. But if they have been overhauled by Aero Sport or Penn Yan you can be assured the job has been done correctley and have good value.
