Fluting J-Channels?

So, I'm just about to assemble my aft fuselage for the first time. The instructions would have you mark the center line of the J-channels. I assume this line will be used to center the J-channel on the pre-punched holes of the fuselage skins. I've noticed that the channels are not perfectly straight. I assume this is an artifact of putting the J shape into flat sheet.

Has anyone fluted these to straighten them out, or does everyone just pull them into alignment in assembly.

Thanks!

I'm interested to hear the 'experts'.

In my mind fluting would take away the strength in the J. I have never fluted a J and it looked fine.

I've never fluted a J channel and have never seen any fluted on RV's to date. Catch the centerline and build on. :)
