Question: Chamfer Trailing Edge of Top Wing Skin?

Question from a relative newbie here.

Restoring an RV-6. Top wing skin trailing edge above the flap produces an uneven gap to the flap surface when the flaps are fully retracted. Has anyone chamfered the trailing edge of the skin to close this gap?

Vans has a really slick tool used to bend the rear spar and skin down above the flap. It's a loaner tool called "Rear spar flange bend" and you only pay for shipping both ways to use it.

I used it a couple weeks ago on my RV-7 wings and it took me 15 minutes to do both.

Unless you have a one piece skin, there should be a slit in the trailing edge of the skin where the inboard .032 overlaps the outboard .025 top skin. Make sure this slit is there or the skin will not lay flat against the flap.
