jacking the 14

been looking around the jacking threads on the forum, bot don't see too many which could be used on the 14 as a carry-along item for lifting a main wheel in the field. I'd be interested to see what other -14 owners are using

Thanks.....

Not sure about the 14A but on the 14 at the bottom of the gear leg in line with the axle on the inside is an open section that a 7/8" (from memory) bar fits into perfectly. I have a piece of bar 6"-8" long that I can slip in and then use a trolley jack to lift the wheel off the floor.
I used this method occasionally during construction but there is no reason why the same thing can't be carried in the plane. I'm sure a piece of reasonable heavy pipe machined to the correct diameter could be used instead to save a bit of weight

Thanks Graham, but I forgot the totally different gear legs on the 14 vs. 14A. Mine's a 14A so I'm looking for ideas specific to it.
