Canopy Side Load When Opening

Finishing up the tip up canopy but when opening the canopy with the little handle on the left from outside of the plane there is a slight side load on the canopy and it is a little difficult to open with just the little handle. Do most have to also lift with the your other hand from the back top of the canopy?

Yup, pretty flexible...gotta crack it open with the handle and pull it up from the center of the opening. When closing, do the opposite...don't let it fall.

If you lift from the left side, you need to push in slightly toward the centerline of the aircraft. No problem, just a learned technique.
