Default RIP

Examples like this caused me to request a taxiway hold rather than a taxi-into-position-hold. A busy controller, a Beech 18, and a landing F4 (on a different frequency) with a bad result has never been forgotten.

Respectful requests are usually accepted.

Default Great article

Nice writing Myron. It goes without saying that when your time is up, it's up. Far better pilots than I could even dream of being have been killed due to no fault of their own, as in this case. The best way I can think of to honor those that perished is to learn and teach, which you are doing. Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom.

I was there and saw it happen. It was tragic.
