Cowling to Plenum (FIX)

Larry Parham

Well Known Member
This may fix my issue with the cowling to plenum mating properly?????
My engine has dropped around 3/8 to 1/2 inch using the top of spinner and the top of top cowled a reference point. The plenum is tied to the engine and the engine is tied to the firewall. If the engine sags for any reason then the mating of cowl to plenum would be off 3/8 to1/2 inch allowing a certain amount of air to travel above the plenum and not entering plenum... Does this sound reasonable?

Larry, I don't exactly know what your problem is, but for my plenum mate to the cowl, the plan is to reshim the engine back to the correct position, if it moves.

It seems rare for the Lord mounts to sag with time. Is that what you are using?
